Microbial analysis

The methanogenic community analysis on the microbial cultures previously developed has been performed. Samples were taken from batch reactor experiments to analyse the methanogenic microbial composition of all the enriched samples and the composite inocula using Next generation 16S rRNA gene sequencing to identify the methanogens that are dominant in the cultures. It is expected to obtain clear insights regarding the methanogenic microbiome under high lignocellulose and ammonia levels. An internal report about the community microbial analysis will be distributed among the project’s participants. The results and analysed data will serve as critical foundation for the subsequent experiments planned as part of this project. These results will not only guide the design and execution of future investigations but will also ensure that the project’s upcoming phases are based on a robust and reliable framework, thereby contributing to the overall success and coherence of the research objectives.
