Invited research visit at University of Cordoba (UCO) & Dissemination of MicroPower project

The Principal Investigator (Project coordinator) of the MICROPOWER project was invited for a research visit at the University of Córdoba (UCO), Spain, where he had the opportunity to present the project’s vision, novelty, objectives, and progress to researchers and faculty members. The visit provided a great platform to disseminate the MICROPOWER Project and in general bioaugmentation strategies for enhancing anaerobic digestion, focusing on its role in improving biogas production efficiency and the sustainable treatment of organic waste.

Throughout the visit, insightful discussions took place on a variety of related research areas, including microbial interactions in anaerobic digestion systems, bioreactor performance optimization, and novel bioaugmentation strategies for energy recovery. These exchanges fostered an engaging academic dialogue, highlighting synergies between the MICROPOWER Project and ongoing research efforts at UCO. The discussions also emphasized the importance of advancing biotechnological approaches regarding bioaugmentation in anaerobic digestion and exploring microbial community engineering to maximize the potential of anaerobic digestion technologies.

The research visit included presentations, laboratory visits, and collaborative meetings, offering a deeper understanding of UCO’s cutting-edge research in bioenergy and environmental biotechnology. This visit strengthened international academic collaboration and opened pathways for potential joint research initiatives in the field of renewable energy and waste valorization.
